P.E.O. Chapter MZ will meet March 11, at 1:30 PM, at the home of Dorla Hilmer. The program will be presented by Barb Fuchs.

Dave Ramsey's 'Financial Peace University' classes being offered
"Debt, savings, retirement fund...do you struggle to feel secure and have control of these areas of your finances? Learn God's way of handling money with Dave Ramsey's 'Financial Peace University' classes offered on Sunday evenings at 6:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Vinton.
The first class begins next Sunday night, March 3 and will run for nine weeks total.
Ladies, don't forget Sunday is the day to shop!
If you missed the first opportunity to purchase a dress for prom, the next sale will be Sunday, March 3rd from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Vinton-Shellsburg High School.
Ikes free Firearms Safety Training cancelled for tonight
If you live in Vinton and had planned on attending the Ikes free Firearms Safety Training tonight, we are going to cancel it due to the snow and continued drifting.
We will reschedule with a new date in March.
Literacy Fair seeking adult participants
The 3rd Annual Benton County Financial Literacy Fair will be held at the Vinton Skate Center on Tuesday, April 9th from 8:15-11:45 AM.
The Financial Literacy Fair is the culmination of a year's worth of financial study and career exploration for area middle school students. During the year students will learn how to keep a check registry, how to make a budget and the importance of saving money.
Tickets still available to see Dan Gable
Vinton Unlimited will be holding our Annual Meeting on March 1st, 2013 with key note speaker, Dan Gable. This will be a great opportunity to hear a short presentation about Vinton Unlimited and the events/activities that have taken place over the past year and look ahead to the upcoming activities of 2013.
Our key note speaker will be one of Iowa’s greatest athletes, Dan Gable.
American Legion Auxilairy Unit 57 meet
The women of American Legion Auxilairy Unit 57 of Vinton Iowa met to sew wheel chair arm totes for Eastern Iowa Honor Flight. The totes will fit over the arm of the wheel chair a veteran uses to hold bottle of water and any misc. item the veteran may have.
A big THANK YOU to the ladies from Eastern Iowa Honor Flight.
